A drawn concert by Charles Berberian around his graphic novel Une éducation orientale (Casterman, 2023). A sensitive fresco on exile and cultural lineages. Part memoir, part collective memory, the Franco-Lebanese graphic novelist Charles Berbérian traces his family’s wanderings around the Mediterranean across generations: Egypt, Armenia, Iraq, Greece, Cyprus... Some of his drawings are projected, while he creates others live on stage, accompanied by Mediterranean musicians and singers who pace the narrative with their melodies.
