Exactly 100 years ago, American artist Alexander Calder arrived in France for the first time. To mark this anniversary, the Centre Pompidou and the Centre-Val de Loire region join forces to organize an exceptionally large-scale event. From the 1930s, Calder established himself as one of the greatest modern sculptors with his mobiles, suspended sculptures, and constant motion. Very attached to France throughout his life, he bought a house in 1954 in the village of Saché where he later built his large studio overlooking the valley…
